Group of Friends Going on Excursion

Connor Thomas

Connor is from Dallas, Texas. He is an undergraduate in the Class of 2022, minoring in philosophy with a major in American studies. Despite still looking for a philosophical niche, he enjoys existentialism, critical theory, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, philosophy of religion and different metaphysics. Connor thinks Melville is more philosopher than novelist, knowing it might be a tired take.

Hari Choudhari

Hari is a freshman in the SFS planning on majoring in IPOL. Hari was born in Boston but he has lived in Bangalore, India for most of his life. Hari loves diving into existentialism, stoicism, and political philosophy. And he also enjoys playing the guitar, reading, and spending time with his two doggos when he can.

Emily Li

Originally from Shanghai, China, Emily is currently a junior majoring in international political economy and minoring in philosophy. Some areas of philosophy that interest her the most are social philosophy, moral philosophy, the philosophy of Existentialism, and philosophy of language. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading books (Emily is a huge fan of Dostoevsky and Camus!), taking street photography, and running.

Julian Jimenez

Julian was born in Colombia (not to be confused with Columbia) but he lived in Ireland for most of his life. He's in the class of 2024, planning to major in philosophy. Julian loves all sorts of philosophy but particularly analytical philosophy, Thomism, philosophy of religion, mind, linguistics and he also likes theoretical physics. His hobbies include reading and cross country running. Julian thinks e-books are better than physical books.

Nicholaus Hodge

Nicholaus is from Auburn, Alabama, and he is a philosophy major in the class of 2023. Nicholaus loves philosophy because he loves to question his most fundamental assumptions about the world, so naturally he is most drawn to the philosophy of science, religion, and language. Nicholaus is a first-generation college student, a member of the Georgetown Scholars Program, and a tutor with DC Reads. In his free time Nicholaus loves reading fantasy, science fiction, and science nonfiction books by authors like N.K. Jemison, Bill Bryson, Carl Sagan, Madeline Miller, and many others.

Sang Doan

Sang is a sophomore in the School of Foreign Service. A clueless business major, he finds consolation in reading philosophy. It has, besides making him question the ethics of feeding his dog, assured that he would never want to be a philosopher in the academia. However, Sang is still very much fond of discussing machine consciousness, effective altruism, robot rights and pretty much everything else. Just don’t remind him of why pets are unethical.

Chloe Anderson

Chloe Anderson is a freshman at Georgetown University, and she is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is passionate about using linguistics to make a difference in the world, and looks forward to studying computational linguistics. In her free time, she enjoys mulling over the big questions in life and making art.
